on a bus

Are you looking for something to do this weekend?

If so, consider taking an Old Town Trolley Tour through Washington DC.

There are fifteen stops, and you can hop-on and off as little or as much as you want.

Washington DC is less than thirty minutes from our Forestville, MD apartments, and tour highlights include:

International Spy Museum

Bourne and Bond fans don’t want to miss the International Spy Museum. It’s the country’s only museum dedicated to espionage. The exhibits feature firsthand accounts from top intelligence officers and the largest public display of espionage artifacts.

Your visit will begin in the Briefing Center. You’ll receive a new identity before testing your spy skills in the permanent exhibitions. Your progress will be tracked, and you’ll learn the results during debriefing.

National Museum of Natural History

Designed to invoke discovery of the natural world, the National Museum of Natural History has delighted guests since 1910. Its scientist frequently conduct research, they don’t just tell the Earth’s story, they help write it. Admission is free, and in 2016, the museum was the 11th most visited museum in the world.

One of the exhibits includes the Butterfly Pavilion. Found on the second floor, it’s home to approximately 300 free-flying butterflies. The species come from around the globe and include white morphos, Mexican shoemakers, and emperor swallowtails.

National Air and Space Museum

Step into the National Air and Space Museum to see some of the most significant objects in air and space exploration. It’s the country’s most visited museum, and over 311 million people have walked through the doors since 1976.

Many of the items on display are one-of-a-kind. This includes Neil Armstrong’s Apollo 11 spacesuit. It’s on view in the Wright Brothers gallery along with the piece of the Wright flyer that Neil took with him to the moon.

These are just a few of the museums near our pet-friendly apartments in Forestville, MD. To call our community home, please contact us. We would love to arrange a personalized tour.
